Employment Opportunities at Montalbano Farms

Montalbano Farms is now hiring employees for the 2012 growing season. We are a
diversified, organic vegetable, herb, and fruit farm located approximately 80 miles
west of Chicago. We grow for our customers through our CSA program, our farmers
markets, and at grocers throughout the area.
Field Manager: An experienced (3 years plus) farmer to help manage our field
operations. Your duties will include planting, weeding, cultivating, watering, and
managing field and greenhouse crops. Experience in a supervisory position is
preferred and this is a full-time year round position with benefits.
Harvest Manager: An experienced (3 years plus) farmer to help manage our harvest,
wash, recordkeeping, and post harvest storage operations. You may also have field
responsibilities as needed. Experience in a supervisory position is preferred and this
is a full-time year round position with benefits.
Seasonal Field Workers: A great opportunity to learn more about organic farming.
You will be involved in all aspects of the farm including planting, watering, weeding,
harvesting, washing, packaging, mulching, and recordkeeping. Previous farm
experience is preferred. This is a full-time season position beginning in April/May
and continuing through October.
Part-Time Field Workers: An opportunity for part-time field workers. You will be
involved in all aspects of the farm. No farm experience is necessary.
Throughout the season, there will be opportunities for employees to gain experience
in most aspects of organic farming. Montalbano Farms is a member of the
Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) and there are
opportunities for educational experiences on other farms.
Our farm is located in Sandwich, Illinois, approximately 80 miles from Chicago and
also within close distance of Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville and Starved Rock
State Park in Ottawa.

the farm. Montalbano Farms is 10 minutes from the towns of Sandwich and Plano
and we can help you find housing. Our salary and benefits package is above average
